PA Real Daughters :

Welcome to PSSDAR

What is a Real Daughter?

A DAR Real Daughter is a woman who joined the DAR whose father was a Revolutionary Patriot. There has been some confusion about what is a Real Daughter. In the early years the Real Daughter Committee was marking the graves of any daughter of a Revolutionary Soldier. The NSDAR now recognizes the name Real Daughter only for those daughters of Revolutionary Soldiers that joined the DAR.

Are there PA Real Daughters?

In Pennsylvania, we have thirty-eight Real Daughters that were members of PA chapters or were PA Members at Large and ten members of chapters outside of Pennsylvania who are buried here. Most of them had Pennsylvania roots.

Do you want more PA Real Daughter information?

You can download a PowerPoint presentation about some of the Pennsylvania Real Daughters.
**If you do not have PowerPoint on your computer, you will not be able to play this presentation.**
Right click on the link and chose "Save Target As" or "Save Link As" and save it to your desktop.
Then go to your desktop and open the file.
You are invited to use this presentation at your chapter meetings.

Please also download the PA Real Daughters Notes to go with the presentation.

If you have any questions, please contact Nancy (Nan) Baker , PA State Registrar, or Roberta (Bobbi) P. McMullen, current State Regent and compiler of the Real Daughters information in Pennsylvania.
